PROTECTIVE CLOTHING FOR MILITARY AND TACTICAL OPERATIONS
Whether you're a military service member or an avid hunter, a combat shirt can provide advanced protection in various environments. These specialized shirts are made from high-performance materials, such as odor-controlling knit and reinforced ripstop fabric. U.S. Patriot offers a wide range of U.S. Military combat shirts and tactical shirts to suit your needs.
U.S. MILITARY COMBAT SHIRT FEATURES
U.S. military combat shirts have specialized features to suit the needs of military service members. These shirts are made from lightweight, quick-drying fabric that wicks moisture away from the skin. A military battle shirt offers enhanced protection in challenging environments and fits comfortably beneath heavy gear and plate carriers.
U.S. Air Force and U.S. Army combat shirts are very similar in construction. They have quarter zip collars to make donning and doffing quick and easy. These shirts feature ripstop raglan sleeves and have a zippered pocket on each shoulder. The body is made from breathable knit fabric with odor-busting properties to help prevent odors.
U.S. ARMY COMBAT SHIRTS
Army Combat Shirts (ACS) are worn in hot weather and as a protective barrier between heavy gear and a soldier's skin:
- Authorized for wear beneath a Soldier Plate Carrier System (SPCS) or Improved Outer Tactical Vest (IOTV).
- May be worn under body armor instead of the FRACU or Aircrew Combat Uniform jacket for a FR ACS.
U.S. AIR FORCE COMBAT SHIRTS
The Airman Combat Shirt (ACS) is worn underneath Individual Body Armor (IBA) and several other situations:
- When approved by AEW or AEG/CCs, the ACS may be worn in outdoor working environments.
- Airmen who wear the ACS may forgo an undershirt.
- Sleeves may be cuffed or tucked under, but never pushed up the forearm or rolled inside out.
- IR U.S. Flag, rank, and nametape worn on right shoulder, HHQ and unit patches worn on the left.
For more information, please refer to official USAF regulations or consult with your direct supervisor.
TACTICAL COMBAT SHIRTS
Tactical combat shirts are designed for more specialized applications, such as hunting or tactical training. Like military battle shirts, tactical shirts feature reinforced ripstop sleeves and have a body made of moisture wicking knit material.
Tactical shirts come with either a quarter or half zip collar and typically have a pocket on each bicep. Unlike military shirts, tactical shirts can be short sleeved and come in various colors, such as black, OD green, and MultiCam. Tactical shirts can be worn for many occasions, including:
- Hunting
- Shooting sports
- Field training
- Hiking
- Camping
- and more!

CHOOSING THE RIGHT COMBAT SHIRT
When choosing the right tactical shirt, consider the environment you'll be in and the activities you'll be doing. U.S. Army and Air Force service members must buy an authorized military combat shirt that is compliant with Mil-Spec standards. If you are a hunter or outdoor enthusiast, a tactical combat shirt can help provide extra protection from the elements. No matter which type of combat shirt you choose, you'll surely find the perfect one to equip yourself in the field.
