Some products, like the Camelbak operation hawkeye water bottle, have an exceptional history behind them. This special water bottle commemorates the life and death of 31 brave military service members and celebrates the power of one person to make a difference in the lives of others. On August 6, 2011, a CH-47 Chinook helicopter was shot down in Afghanistan during Operation Enduring Freedom, ending the lives of 30 people and one highly trained military dog. Though this incident was the largest loss of life in a single day to occur in the American Special Forces, this tragedy inspired a 12 year old boy in Virginia to organize a unique fundraiser. He asked for donations for every successful basketball shot he made over the Labor Day weekend that year; at final count he had made over 20,000 shots and raised $50,000! This special fundraising effort continued in 2012 and 2013. The money went to support the families of those killed in the 2011 attack.
