The uniform of the United States Air Force is known as the Airman Battle Uniform, or ABU. The uniform may be adorned with patches or badges earned over the course of a military career, such as the Master Missileman AF 28U ABU Master badge. Made by Action Embroidery, this badge features a missile launching toward a starry sky surrounded by a laurel wreath. At the top of the patch is a star encircled by a wreath, which is the symbol of Master status. There are three levels to the Missileman badge: Basic, Senior, and Master. To earn the Master level, individuals must have graduated Initial Qualification Training and have at least nine years of nuclear experience. In addition, officers may need to serve as combat mission ready at an ICMB unit, which is signified by the wreath around the missile on the patch. The Basic or Senior badges can be worn until the Master is earned.
The ABU has very specific guidelines for the placement of badges. Make sure to adhere to these when sewing yours on. This piece takes only minutes to attach with a machine or by hand. If you qualify for Master Missileman status, order your patch today.
